Healthy You: Utilizing United Regional’s MyChart electronic portal
Whether it’s in person, online, through video, or over the phone, United Regional Health Care System has a wide variety of ways you can set up an appointment and be seen by a doctor or even determine if you need to come in and see a doctor, thanks to United Regional’s online portal called MyChart.
When it comes to fast, convenient, and reliable care, United Regional Health Care System has your back through its innovative electronic portal called MyChart.
“MyChart is a patient portal that United Regional offers where the patients can get online from their computer. Laptop, iPad, or go from their mobile phone and access their personal health information,” Applicant Services Analyst, Sarah Wesley said.
With MyChart, patients can access medical records, view test results, send messages to their care team, and more. Patient access coordinator Alyssa Lynn said it also allows patients to receive the exact care they need, all at the touch of their fingertips.
“MyChart gives patients full control over when they want to schedule, how they want to schedule it gives them the opportunities to really compare their daily lives to what we have available to them. They can ask questions, and gives us a decision tree as well, to making sure that they are scheduled appropriately to fit their needs,” Lynn said.
While also giving you the ability to schedule appointments and even attend appointments from the comfort of your own home.
“Video visits are basically like an in-person visit, but you do it from your home on a video from your computer. So, it’s very personal, but it’s so convenient so that you can do it in your home. You can still talk to your provider, ask questions and explain everything that’s going on,” Wesley said.
And what if you’ve been feeling bad but aren’t entirely sure whether you should get out to see a doctor?
“There are tools like symptom checker where you can go on and basically explain, hey, I have this. I have back pain, I have a cough that has lasted x amount of days. And the symptom checker will help you decide, okay, what are the best next steps for you?” Wesley said.
A major game changer is if you suffer from anxiety like 300-million others in the U.S., seeing that you don’t even have to speak with someone over the phone if that’s something that makes you uncomfortable.
“It helps with that because it gives you the. And on time. I need to actually be able to know you have control over your own health care and not having to actually be on the phone and have to explain to somebody what’s going on. You have it to where you can type it out and be able to know that you have that control,” Lynn said.
Control, comfort, and care, all three things you get when utilizing United Regional’s MyChart.
