United Regional’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is nationally certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation for providing excellence in cardiopulmonary care.

The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program carefully monitors exercise sessions that take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 18 weeks for patients with pulmonary disease. Qualified individuals will undergo an initial evaluation including a physical examination. From this information, an exercise prescription is individually formulated for each patient. The goal of the program is to control and reduce the symptoms of respiratory impairment and to teach those with pulmonary diseases how to maximize optimal capacity and activity level. Successful completion of a pulmonary rehabilitation program has been associated with decreased hospitalizations, enhanced quality of life, and increased tolerance of movement and activity.
