United Regional is recognized in Wichita Falls and the surrounding communities for providing advanced technology and high quality care. When it comes to injuries, United Regional serves as the primary trauma-receiving center for an area with a population of more than 250,000.
This achievement recognizes United Regional’s dedication to providing optimal care for injured patients and substantiates that we provide not only the resources necessary for trauma care, but the entire spectrum of care to address the needs of all injured patients, from the pre-hospital phase through the rehabilitation process.
Trauma System in the State of Texas
Trauma Systems are responsible for saving millions of lives by ensuring that severely injured patients receive the care they need within that crucial first hour. Current medical practices prove that the care and treatments delivered within the first hour of a severe injury are likely to mean the difference between temporary and permanent disabilities, as well as between life and death.
United Regional has been a leader in trauma system development in North Texas and throughout the state. At a regional level, United Regional’s Trauma Department personnel have continuously served as members of the executive committee of the North Texas Regional Advisory Council (NTRAC) since its incorporation in 1992.
We are located in the center of Trauma Service Area C, which includes Archer, Baylor, Clay, Foard, Hardeman, Jack, Montague, Wichita, Wilbarger, and Young counties.
