Sylvia Holtman, DO

Dr. Sylvia Holtman is a neurologist with United Regional Physician Group.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington and her medical degree from the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed clinical rotations in the Muscle Shoals area, where she developed an appreciation for local medicine. Dr. Holtman then completed her neurology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, gaining experience at leading hospitals caring for patients with complex neurological conditions.

Dr. Holtman’s passion for neurology is deeply personal — shaped by her younger sister’s journey with CHARGE syndrome and her own diagnosis of multiple sclerosis during medical school. These experiences give her a unique empathy and insight into the challenges her patients face. She is drawn to the intellectual challenge of neurology and finds purpose in helping patients and families navigate uncertain paths with clarity and compassion. Known for her c
