Parker Short is a National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) board certified Physician Assistant (PA) at United Regional Physician Group dedicated to helping protect the health of the community he loves.
Short earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX, and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. While initially working in hospital administration, Parker decided to switch to a career in direct patient care and earned his Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, and a Doctor of Medical Science (DMS) from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Parker was confident that he would one day have a career in healthcare but did not decide to pursue a career in medicine until the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic. He credits his family medicine clinical rotation with Dr. Kent Russell as his inspiration to work in family medicine, citing Dr. Russell’s passion for medicine and patient care.
As a Family Medicine PA, Short enjoys forming meaningful and collaborative relationships with his patients. He hopes that these relationships will allow him to perform more preventative medicine rather than reactionary medicine and help his patients maintain a high quality of life.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, family, friends and two corgis as well as golfing and cycling
