Meherunnisa Abdal, MD

Dr. Meherunnisa Abdal is a board-certified family medicine physician with United Regional Physician Group.

Dr. Abdal attended medical school at Fatima Jinnah Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan, where she spent nearly six years studying medicine. Returning to the United States, she completed her residency training at Texas Tech Family Medicine at the Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas.

With a lifelong passion to help others through advocacy, support, and reliability, Dr. Abdal knew these values aligned perfectly with a career in medicine. She believes medicine is more than diagnosing illnesses or prescribing treatments; it is about empowering people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Dr. Abdal chose family medicine because it allows her to care for patients at every stage of life and build long-term relationships with individuals and families. Caring for multiple generations within the same family creates a unique level of trust, comfort, and connection with her patients.

Often, people are seeking more than a diagnosis or treatment. They want to feel heard, understood, and confident that their concerns matter. Dr. Abdal takes the time to build those connections with her patients through thoughtful, attentive care.

Dr. Abdal and her husband have a wonderful daughter who brings so much joy to their lives, and they hope to continue growing their family in the years ahead. In her spare time, Dr. Abdal enjoys staying active and going to the gym. She appreciates being part of the Wichita Falls community and having the opportunity to raise her family here.
