Dr. Kara Hensley is a board-certified family medicine with obstetrics (FMOB) physician with United Regional Physician Group.

Dr. Hensley earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas, before receiving her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL. She completed her family medicine residency at Texas A&M University Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine in College Station, TX, where she served as chief resident and completed the Complete Advanced Obstetrics and Advanced Endoscopy Track.

Wanting to be a physician for as long as she can remember, Dr. Hensley grew up surrounded by family members who were, and some who still are, healthcare providers and was inspired by the impact they made on individuals and families in this community. Seeing those lasting relationships firsthand showed her that medicine is about far more than treating illness. It's about becoming part of a community and making a meaningful difference in people's lives.

FMOB allows Dr. Hensley to care for patients through every stage of life, from delivering babies to providing preventive care and managing chronic conditions. She values the continuity her specialty offers and finds it especially rewarding to care for children she delivered and support their families over time. Her residency training in full-spectrum rural family medicine prepared her to care for a wide variety of patients and conditions. She is passionate about helping patients feel heard, respected and involved in their care, and looks forward to expanding access to affordable, evidence-based menopause care in Wichita Falls.

Wichita Falls is especially meaningful to Dr. Hensley because her family lives here. She is honored to continue her family's legacy as a third-generation physician and appreciates the opportunity to serve the community that helped shape her.

Outside of work, Dr. Hensley enjoys spending time with her husband, Robby, who also works in healthcare, and looks forward to starting a family together. She also enjoys spending time with her golden retriever, Douglas, crafting, baking, playing tennis, and completing triathlons.
