Dr. Ankit Patel is a board-certified family medicine physician with fellowship training in sports medicine with United Regional Physician Group.
Dr. Patel began his academic journey at Austin College in Sherman, TX, where he earned a degree in psychology. He went on to complete his medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada before returning home to Wichita Falls for a family medicine residency. He later completed a sports medicine fellowship at Texas Tech University in El Paso, TX.
A lifelong passion for science and biology — combined with early exposure to medicine through physician parents — inspired Dr. Patel to pursue a career in healthcare. Growing up in clinical settings and hospitals fostered a deep appreciation for the impact of compassionate care. He is excited to bring that commitment to United Regional Physician Group.
Dr. Patel’s clinical approach emphasizes clear, relatable communication and a patient-first mindset. He strives to make every patient feel comfortable and cared for, treating each individual like family and building trust during times of need.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Patel enjoys attending athletic events, collecting sports memorabilia, and cheering for the Dallas Mavericks. He and his wife, Jordan, a nurse practitioner, are proud parents of two children, Ashtin and Rivi. Returning to Wichita Falls brings Dr. Patel great excitement and the opportunity to serve the community that helped shape their journey, embrace the small-town warmth, and enjoy the simplicity of life without big-city traffic.
